Tadej Pogacar calls, Jonas Vingegaard answers. The Dane of Visma Lease a Bike won the last stage of the Volta ao Algarve, a 19 km individual time trial, with a mountain finish in Malhao, and conquered the Portuguese stage race.

Vingegaard stopped the clock at 28'25" ahead of his teammate Wout Van Aert, 11 seconds behind, and an excellent Antonio Tiberi, third at 14 seconds.

In the general classification, Vingegaard climbs to the top step of the podium, preceding Joao Almeida by 15 seconds and Laurens De Plus by 24 seconds.
