The fifth stage of the Giro del Dauphiné from Amplepuis to Saint Priest, 167km, was cancelled, without a stage winner.

A big fall at 21 kilometers involves almost the entire group , including the big names like Roglic , Evenepoel , Ayuso and Hindley ; the stage is momentarily and then definitively neutralized.

Evenepoel was injured under the right knee but did not appear to have suffered serious consequences, as did Roglic, while Kruijswijck was taken away in an ambulance.
