Play the special league and win wonderful gifts
The 2026 Giro d'Italia , scheduled for May 8-31, promises to be one of the toughest and most spectacular editions in recent years. With 3,459 km, over 49,000 meters of elevation gain, and seven summit finishes concentrated primarily in the final two weeks, the Giro d'Italia will test endurance, strategy, and thoroughness.
The big news is the start in Bulgaria , which hosts the first three stages for the first time, before moving to Italy. After a rocky start, the first key moment comes with the ascent of Blockhaus in the first week, followed by the Apennine finish at Corno alle Scale .
The second week features the only time trial, from Viareggio to Massa , which could create significant gaps, and the Alpine stage to Pila . However, the final week will decide everything: four uphill finishes, including extremely tough stages like Alleghe and the final climb to Piancavallo . The Cima Coppi will be the Giau Pass (2,233 m), the symbol of this edition.
Among the favorites, the spotlight is on Jonas Vingegaard , a rider capable of making a difference on climbs and eager to win the Giro to complement his successes in the Grand Tours. To do so, Visma Lease a Bike will also have top domestique Sepp Kuss and a young hopeful, Davide Piganzoli.
His main rivals will be Giulio Pellizzari and Jay Hindley, teammates at Red Bull Bora hansgrohe, among others. Also to be mentioned are Felix Gall, Derek Gee West, Giulio Ciccone, Michael Storer, Egan Bernal, Thymen Arensman, Adam Yates, Jay Vine, and Enric Mas.
Before the usual finale in Rome, with the parade on the Imperial Forums, there will be several opportunities for sprinters such as Jonathan Milan, Tobias Lund Andresen, Paul Magnier, and Dylan Groenewegen.
Then there are the stage hunters, and here you're spoiled for choice. Among them are many Italians like Scaroni, Vendrame, Zana, and Pinarello. Then there's Filippo Ganna, torn between domestique duties for Ineos and the possibility of partial victories like in the time trial.
Don't forget to field your team in the Giro d'Italia League, available on the Fantacycling app. You can also win an iPhone 17, other great gifts for the top 10, and a badge for the top 100!
