Iztulia: Roglic wins the opening time trial

Ahead of Vine and Skjelmose, fourth Evenepoel

Primoz Roglic won the inaugural time trial of the Itzulia, a stage race that started today from the Basque Country. The Slovenian from Bora concluded his test in Irun, after 10 km, with a time of 12'31" at an exceptional average of 47.936 km/h. Roglic, who also took a wrong turn a few meters from the finish line, losing a few seconds, he is the first leader of the general classification.

The loser of the day is Remco Evenepoel , only fourth at 11 seconds also due to a fall in the first corners. Jay Vine arrives on the podium, just 7 seconds behind Roglic, and Mattias Skjelmose, 10 seconds behind the winner. Jonas Vingegaard defends, at 15 seconds, and Juan Ayuso, who reaches 16 seconds. Of note is the withdrawal before the start of Thomas Pidcock who fell during the reconnaissance of the route.
