Paul Magnier won the 29th edition of the ADAC Cyclassics, a World Tour race held today in Hamburg over the distance of 205.3 km.

The day's breakaway featured six riders: Thomas, Rutsch, Maciejuk, De Pooter, Van Belle, and Behrens. Numerous attempts by other riders to attack from afar were unsuccessful, while in the middle, Del Toro and Girmay crashed without injury.

On the last pass of the Waseberg (700 metres at an average gradient of 9.4%), 15 km from the finish line, the escapees are caught under the pressure of Del Toro who manages to break up the group and detach Milan and Kooij.

A fairly large group still competed for the win. Magnier was the strongest in the sprint: the Frenchman from Soudal Quick Step beat Mike Teunissen of Astana and Laurence Pithie of Red Bull Bora hansgrohe.
