The world champion: "I can't imagine myself anywhere else. In 2025 I'll be at the Tour and I'm thinking about the Vuelta"
Tadej Pogacar renews with UAE Team Emirates until 2030. The world champion and winner of the Tour de France and Giro d'Italia in 2024, thus extends his relationship with the team that launched him into the great cycling in 2019 and with which he has collected 88 successes as a professional : “I am extremely proud to continue with UAE Emirates – said Pogacar – This team has been my home for the last five years and I can’t imagine myself anywhere else. The best moments of my career have been in this team and this is thanks to the staff, the managers, the teammates and the partners who allow me to always be at the highest level. I am really excited for the future. The team always gives me the best chance to fight for victory and that is exactly what I intend to do”.
Pogacar then spoke about his 2025 plans: “I’ll probably go to the Tour de France again next year, and I’ll also be at the UAE Tour at the start of the season, which I haven’t been to for a couple of years. I’ll most likely also do the Tour of Flanders, which I missed this year, and then I’m also thinking about the Vuelta.”
UAE Emirates Team Manager Mauro Gianetti was obviously also delighted: “It’s a great feeling to be able to announce the contract extension of Tadej Pogacar, the leader of our team and the best rider in the world. Tadej joined us when he was still a 20-year-old with a lot of ambition, and we’ve seen him blossom into the rider who won the Giro, Tour and World Championships this year. His talent is clear to everyone, but he’s also one of the riders who works the hardest and shows the most dedication. Tadej deserves all his successes and I’m very happy that he’ll be staying with us for the next few years.”
Matar Suhail Al Yabhouni Al Dhaheri , President of the UAE team, also commented proudly: “This is a special moment for the team and for cycling in the UAE. Tadej is an incredible talent and represents the Emirates perfectly. He is an inspiration to the next generation and is loved by so many. It has been a privilege to watch him grow into the person he is today, and I couldn’t be more proud of what he has achieved with our team. This is a special day for cycling, and we are so excited for the future.”
