Finally an Italian success. According to Van Aert

Jonathan Milan won the eighth stage of the Tour de France, from Saint-Méen-le-Grand to Laval (Espace Mayenne), of 171.4 km.

Saturday was a rather quiet one for the general classification, with the sprinters playing for victory: Milan lost his teammates at the finish line but got off to a flying start, clearly winning the sprint.

This is Milan's seventh victory of the season: thanks to him, Italy returns to winning the Tour after six years (the last was Nibali in 2019).

Behind him are Wout Van Aert and Kaden Groves.

Nothing changes in the general classification: Tadej Pogacar remains in the yellow jersey.
