Jordi Meeus (Red Bull-Bora) wins the third stage of the Volta ao Algarve (2.Pro) from Vila Real Santo António to Tavira (183.5km).

The final, slightly downhill section with the wind in his favor, is very fast, with peaks of over 70 km/h in the last 5 km. A fall upsets the group in the final kilometer, but Meeus manages to take off at the right time and beats Dainese . The Italian is however relegated for an irregular maneuver, having swerved to his right suddenly and having cut off Rui Olivera of UAE Team Emirates.

Girmay therefore finishes second ahead of De Lie . Van Aert also attempts a sprint but finishes only in 7th place.
