The cyclocross world championships get off to a great start for Italy with Mattia Agostinacchio triumphing at the end of a very hard-fought race.
The Italian managed to catch up and then detach the Frenchman Joumard (who then finished in 2nd place) who had started the last lap with a lead of about 10". Third place went to another Italian, Filippo Grigolini .
