The Tuscan dominates over Rota and Zambanini
Alberto Bettiol is the new Italian professional road cycling champion.
The Tuscan from Ef in fact won today, 23 June, the race that awarded the tricolor starting from Florence and arriving in Sesto Fiorentino after 228 km.
The attack on the last passage of the Monte Morello climb was decisive, when Bettiol overtook Lorenzo Rota, still second at the finish line as in 2022 and 2023, and Edoardo Zambanini who then finished in third place.
Also in the top 10 is Filippo Ganna, fourth. Followed by Davide Formolo, Giovanni Aleotti, Giulio Ciccone, Simone Velasco, Filippo Fiorelli and Diego Ulissi.
Bettiol will wear the Italian champion's jersey at the next Tour de France starting on Saturday from Florence.
