The Colombian champion is already in rehabilitation and on the streets of Monaco, a week after the accident at the Clásica Jaén

Yet another extraordinary demonstration of resilience for Egan Bernal , who was spotted back on his bike just seven days after his disastrous fall at the Clásica Jaén Paraíso Interior that left him with a broken collarbone.

The Colombian rider, who seemed destined for a long stop , surprised everyone by making his appearance on the roads of the French Riviera. Photographer Jean-François Ottonello immortalized him while pedaling on the Grande Corniche , the panoramic route overlooking Nice, shortly before the Tour des Alpes-Maritimes passes.

The Ineos Grenadiers team confirmed that Bernal has already begun the rehabilitation process under the close supervision of the team's medical and performance staff.

'Egan is now undergoing rehabilitation under the guidance of our medical team,' the British team said.

This rapid return to activity comes at a particularly sweet time for Bernal, who in early February had won both the Colombian national time trial and road titles, his first successes since the terrible accident in 2022 that put his life at risk.

Impact on Fantasy Cycling

For fantasy cycling fans, Bernal’s rapid recovery is important news to monitor. While there is no official timeline for his return to competition yet—he was scheduled to compete at Strade Bianche and Tirreno-Adriatico—the Colombian’s determination suggests he could be back sooner than expected.

Bernal has shown optimism and motivation on social media and one hopes that bad luck has stopped haunting the Colombian climber.
