Jonas Vingegaard (Team Visma Lease a Bike) wins the sixteenth stage of the Giro d'Italia, from Bellinzona to Carì (113km).

There was a lot of fighting today to get into the breakaway, with a small group managing to gain an advantage, but Team Visma kept the situation under control.

In the central circuit with 4 climbs, Ciccone , Narvaez , Harper and Rubio break away, gaining about 2' on the pink jersey group.

On the flat stretch before the final climb, Decathlon helped Visma to the head of the group, and the leaders' advantage remained under a minute at the foot of the final climb.

In the first few metres, Red Bull immediately pushes forward and forces Pellizzari to drop back, who immediately goes into a total crisis .
Visma's pace gradually wears down the leading group, while Harper, the last escapee to give up, is caught.

After Piganzoli's work, Vingegaard sets off with 6.5 km to go. As usual, the Dane breaks away without any particular difficulty. Behind him, a small group forms with Arensman , Bernal , Gall , Piganzoli , Gee, and Hindley .

Vingegaard wins by a wide margin and takes his fourth Giro d'Italia victory. From behind, Arensman tries to pull away after Bernal's work, but Gall takes second place ahead of Hindley .
