The Dolomite stage of the Giro Women does not disappoint and offers a great show.
In the early stages of the race, a breakaway of 22 athletes broke away, but the pink jersey group held the attackers at bay.
The first push among the big names was made by Reusser on the Passo Sant'Antonio, which caused a lot of selection.
However, the race exploded on the first pass of the Costa climb, with Vollering repeatedly attacking and causing problems for many of her rivals. Trinca Colonel attempted to break away on the descent, but was caught on the final climb.
Vollering , Niedermaier , Holmgren, and Van der Breggen remain in front. Reusser drops back, while Longo Borghini picks up his pace with Fisher-Black.
The sprint then arrives with the four in the lead: Vollering attacks at 300 metres and wins clearly ahead of Van der Breggen and Niedermaier .
Longo Borghini is fifth, just 15" behind.
