RCS MediaGroup splits. The group led by Urbano Cairo has officially announced, through a 408-page document filed with the stock exchange, the partial spin-off of RCS MediaGroup in favor of RCS Sports&Events.

What does this mean for the world of cycling ? The Giro d'Italia and the major Italian historic races are being definitively separated from the publishing sector (Corriere della Sera and Gazzetta dello Sport).
For the market, the message is one: the spin-off could be the prelude to a multi-million dollar sale , with clues pointing straight to capital from the Middle East.

The races involved, in addition to the Giro d'Italia , would be the two Monument Classics, Milan-San Remo and the Giro di Lombardia , to which would be added Tirreno-Adriatico and Strade Bianche . The only race outside the peninsula would be the UAE Tour .

The financial data show an excellent response from these races, with total revenues of €43.7 million. From an economic perspective, therefore, investing in cycling could be a wise choice.
