A crash cuts the group off in the final straight

Paul Magnier wins the first stage of the Giro d'Italia, 147 km from Nessebar to Burgas.

Today's stage, completely flat, was enlivened by the two-man breakaway formed by Sevilla and Tarozzi , with the Spaniard becoming the leader of the GPM classification.

The two are caught 22 km from the finish, with the group organizing itself for the final sprint.

The finale was very hectic, with shoulder-to-shoulder collisions and the risk of falling: on the final straight, an accident completely cut off the group, with less than 10 riders competing for the sprint.
Magnier takes Andresen 's wheel and passes him in the final few meters. Vernon finishes third, ahead of Milan.
