Christian Scaroni (XDS Astana Team) wins the Classic Var (1.1), a 164km one-day French race.

On the final 1km straight at 9%, Scaroni beat two French riders, Lapeira and Lafay , in a tight sprint.

Still behind in terms of condition, however, were Fortunato and Carapaz, at their first appearances of the season, who finished in a small group 18 seconds behind the leaders.
