Alpe d'Huez could return to the spotlight, along with a time trial on the Plateau de Solaison
The buzz around the 2025 Tour de France has barely died down, and the first rumours are already emerging about the route of the 2026 edition , which promises to be spectacular and full of new features.
The 2026 Grande Boucle will take place from July 4 to 26 and will likely see the sixth consecutive clash between Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) and Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike), with the Slovenian chasing his fifth victory.
Departure from BarcelonaThe race will start in the Catalan city with a 19.7 km team time trial that will finish at the Montjuïc Olympic Stadium. The second stage, from Tarragona to Barcelona, will include a 12 km final circuit with a climb to Montjuïc Castle. The third stage will start in Granollers with the finish in France yet to be determined.

The official presentation of the complete route, for both the men's and women's Tour, is scheduled for Thursday, October 23 in Paris.
