The official press releases from Lidl-Trek and Israel Premier Tech
In the morning the teams of the two British riders announced their absence, for different reasons.
Lidl-Trek had to give up Tao Geoghegan Hart due to the fall during the fifth stage of the Tour of the Dauphiné, in which the class of '95 fractured a rib, as well as suffering wounds and bruises; Covid, contracted in recent weeks, has further complicated the recovery of the condition for the winner of the 2020 Giro d'Italia.
Different story, however, for Chris Froome , excluded from his team for technical reasons: this morning, Israel Premier Tech made official the eight riders who will take part in the Grande Boucle, ousting the four-time winner of the Tour. The logical explanation concerns the poor form which now seems, unfortunately, to be the norm for Froome.
