Cofidis’ Milan Fretin won the fourth stage of the Volta ao Algarve, 175.2km from Albufeira to Faro.

The Belgian sprinter preceded Jordi Meeus and Filippo Ganna in the sprint. Another Italian, Filippo Buratti of Bahrain Victorious, came eighth.

In the general classification, Ian Christen of UAE Emirates remains in command with a 4" advantage over his teammate Joao Almeida and 7" seconds over Laurens de Plus of Ineos Grenadiers.

Tomorrow is the last stage, a 19km individual time trial with an uphill finish.
