A race in which Evenepoel managed his energy and attacked alongside Skjelmose and Gregoire. Then the Frenchman dropped out on the penultimate pass of the Cauberg, leaving the Belgian and the Dane in front. In the sprint, Evenepoel then easily overtook Skjelmose.
In third place was Benoit Cosnefroy , the most active in the chasing group, while Gregoire finally arrived fourth, ahead of Emiel Versrtynge.
Jorgenson suffered a nasty fall, falling to the ground after Vaquelin slipped; the American has withdrawn and his presence is also at risk for the Flèche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège.
