The former cyclist had counterfeit banknotes in his car

Andrea Piccolo was arrested last night in Naples by the Carabinieri. Counterfeit banknotes totaling two thousand euros were found wrapped up and hidden under the steering wheel in the former EF rider's car.
In addition to the counterfeit banknotes, a telescopic truncheon was also found, which could further aggravate the situation of the 2001-born student.

Piccolo retired in 2024 after failing to finish the nineteenth stage of the Giro d'Italia, effectively his last race.
As a young rider he proved to be an interesting rider for one-day races, with several placings in the 2022 season.
