Brennan doubles his victory at the Vuelta!

Matthew Brennan (Team Visma Lease a bike) wins the fifth stage of the Vuelta España from Falset. Costa Daurada to Roquetes.Terres de l'Ebre (173.3km).

The day's breakaway , made up of Uriarte, Gaffuri, Dversnes and Calzoni, was decidedly short-lived, with the group accelerating at -100 km due to the danger of the fans and closing in on the attackers.

On the up-and-down sections of the final stretch, Kron tries to pull away, while Netcompany sets the pace in the peloton. On the final climb, the group regroups, and the pace imposed by the UAE forces a few sprinters to drop back.

The group thus heads towards the final sprint without any particular surprises: Visma works perfectly with the Van Aert-Laporte train at the service of Brennan who sets off and clearly wins over Meeus and Albanese .
