Vingegaard second ahead of Pogacar who wins the race
Bahrain Victorious's Lenny Martinez won the eighth and final stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné, 133.3km from Val d'Arc to Plateau du Mont-Cenis.
The Frenchman was part of the breakaway of the day with, among others, Enric Mas, Ben Healy and Sepp Kuss. On the last climb Martinez dropped Mas and remained alone while behind him Jonas Vingegaard tried to stay with Tadej Pogacar, without having much collaboration from the latter to catch the escapee. Thus Martinez obtained the success after a difficult week in which he had dropped out of the rankings.
The Slovenian from UAE Emirates, who left second place of the day to Vingegaard, won the race over the Dane from Visma Lease a Bike and Florian Lipowitz from Red Bull Bora hansgrohe.
