Belgian wins third stage, half group goes home

More controversy at the Etoile de Bessèges.

As happened in yesterday's stage, also during the third stage the group encountered vehicles along the route.

Several teams withdrew in protest: among them Red Bull Bora hansgrohe, Ineos Grenadiers, Lidl Trek, Soudal Quick Step and Decathlon Ag2R.

The stage restarted with around ninety riders: at the finish line in Bessèges, after 136 km, Arnaud De Lie won ahead of Arnaud Dèmare and Paul Penhoet.

De Lie is the new leader of the general classification.
