Johannessen climbs to the overall podium thanks to the breakaway

Andrew August wins the last stage of the Itzulia Basque Country, from Goizper-Antzuola to Bergara   (135.2km).

Today too there were numerous attacks right from the early stages, with Healy , Soler and Skjelmose taking an early lead and being chased by a group of over 30 riders.

On the Elosua climb, the race explodes even in the leading group, with Lipowitz trying to accelerate and Seixas reacting and going off alone in pursuit of the counterattackers.

On the flat stretch before the final climb, the situation calms down, with the escapees regrouping and Seixas being caught by the group of favourites, from which Roglic is missing.

On Asentzio , August and Pierna attack, with the American going alone and triumphing ahead of Garcia Pierna and Van den Broek .

Seixas confirmed his overall victory, and Lipowitz defended his second place. The big surprise was Johannessen , who climbed to the podium, while Roglic, on the other hand, collapsed.
