Fifth place for Ganna, Marta Cavalli seventh among women

Remco Evenepoel and Annemiek Van Vleuten win the Velo d'Or 2022 . The two reigning world champions triumph over the competition and win the most important prize in cycling, awarded by the French newspaper Vélo Magazine with a jury made up of international journalists. With 139 and 145 points respectively, in fact, the two dominated their rivals, primarily Wout Van Aert and Lotte Kopecky , who stopped at 88 and 69 points. On the men's podium Tadej Pogacar and a ex-aequo for women between Pauline Ferrand-Prévot and Elisa Longo Borghini . Filippo Ganna finished fifth among men, while Marta Cavalli, Elisa Balsamo and Silvia Persico earned the seventh, ninth and eleventh positions.

Fourth place for Tour de France winner Jonas Vingegaard, with 80 points.
