Here is the long list of runners who leave the race

It is unbelievable what is happening at the Tour of Switzerland . The long series of retirements that began yesterday continued before the start of today's sixth stage. For most of the riders, the cause is the positivity to Covid while only some have left due to heat stroke and illness after yesterday's fraction in Novazzano.

Here is who will not take off:

HIRSCHI Marc (UAE Team Emirates)

SUTER Joel (UAE Team Emirates)

DILLIER Silvan (Alpecin-Fenix)

BAX Sjoerd (Alpecin-Fenix)

JANSSENS Jimmy (Alpecin-Fenix)

OLDANI Stefano (Alpecin-Fenix)

PRICE-PEJTERSEN Johan (Bahrain - Victorious)

WILLIAMS Stephen (Bahrain - Victorious)

MACIEJUK Filip (Bahrain - Victorious)

PIDCOCK Thomas (Ineos Grenadiers)

Obviously the most important name is that of Vlasov, winner of yesterday's stage and leader of the general classification. But all Alpecin, Bahrain and UAE Emirates go home after Jumbo Visma left the Swiss race yesterday. We recall that yesterday he also left Adam Yates of Ineos for the same reason.

Further twists are expected over the next few hours. We remind you that the Tour of Switzerland will end on Sunday but early stops are not excluded.

At the moment the organization has confirmed that the Tour of Switzerland remains scheduled today , the remaining teams have decided to start and then re-evaluate tomorrow morning, but for now everything is going as planned.
