The fourth stage of Paris-Nice was really complicated for the riders, between cold , wind and rain .
Adding to the drama was the Red Bull Bora team, which formed a fan formation right from the early stages, managing to bring a small group of 40 riders to the head of the race.

Unfortunately, on the downhill sections in the second part of the day, it was the crashes that made the stage lively, with several men in the lead slipping on the wet asphalt, including Romeo, McNulty and Ayuso.

By the end of the day , 12 riders had retired from the French race, in addition to three who had not started. Fortunately, after initial tests, none of them appeared to have suffered serious injuries, with no fractures or other serious complications.
