Sprint success, Milan only fifth
Jake Stewart won the fifth stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné, from Saint Priest to Macon, 183km.
With the last escapees of the day, Benjamin Thomas, Jordan Labrosse and Thibault Guernalec, caught 2 km from the finish, it was time for a compact group sprint.
This time Jonathan Milan fails to prevail: the best is the British rider from Israel Premier Tech who beats Axel Laurance from Ineos and Soren Waerenskjold from Uno X. Milan finishes fifth. In the final, a fall without consequences for Remco Evenepoel, who remains the leader of the general classification.
