Final success, with thrill, for Primoz Roglic
Carlos Rodriguez won the eighth and final stage of the Tour du Dauphiné, from Thones to Plateau des Glières of 160.6 km.
The day's escape resumed 8 km from the finish line with, among others, Martin, Gaudu, Lemmen, Soler and Quinn, the battle between the big names began with Matteo Jorgenson, Rodriguez and the surprise Derek Gee as protagonists. Primoz Roglic struggles on the last climb and breaks away from the first three followed by Giulio Ciccone. However, the Slovenian managed to limit the damage by taking the victory in the French race with just 8 seconds over Jorgenson. Completing the final podium is Derek Gee.
Lorenzo Fortunato instead won the mountain grand prix classification.
