Primoz Roglic won the sixth stage of the 174.1km Tour of the Dauphiné, from Hauterives to Le Collet d'Allevard.

On the day Juan Ayuso retires, due to the consequences of yesterday's fall, the big names battle it out in the last kilometers of the final climb. Romain Gregoire, the last protagonist of the day's escape, is caught -5 km from the finish line, Laurens De Plus and Aleksandr Vlasov move but the decisive action is by Giulio Ciccone who makes the difference together with Roglic.

The Abruzzese, however, can do nothing when the Slovenian sprints 250 meters from the finish line to go on to win the stage. The Bora hansgrohe rider also takes first place in the general classification.

Remco Evenepoel is in difficulty, losing 42 seconds to Roglic.
