The Mexican confirms the predictions and wins against San Luca
Isaac Del Toro wins the 2025 Giro dell'Emilia . The Mexican is undeterred by his opponents' attacks and makes the decisive breakthrough on the final pass up the San Luca.
Mikkel Honoré attempted a solo attack with thirty-five kilometers to go, but his move was unsuccessful. Behind him, the peloton controlled the lead with just a few seconds to spare, spurred on by Team UAE , and the Dane from EF was caught on the second pass of the San Luca.
On the third pass of the climb, Adam Yates makes a break for it, forcing Lenny Martinez and Pidcock to react. The Briton's attack makes a decisive move, but the favorites are still all together.
On the penultimate pass on the San Luca, with 11 km to go, Uijtdebroeks tries to pull away, followed by Lenny Martinez, who gain a few metres on the leading group, led by Adam Yates.
The British rider from Team UAE gives up, and then it is Del Toro who takes the lead of the chasing group, staying a hundred metres behind the first two.
In the following descent, however, all the best riders come back and with 7 km to go Carapaz tries to get ahead of everyone, but no one is surprised.
The final pass on the San Luca was decisive: Tom Pidcock pushed hard, gaining a hundred meters on the leaders, but Del Toro caught up with him in the final kilometer and outsprinted him with a decisive attack. This was Tom Pidcock's second consecutive place at the Giro dell'Emilia, following last year's finish behind Tadej Pogačar . An excellent Lenny Martinez finished third, ahead of Bernal and Roglić .
