The Soudal Quick Step rider takes control of the race; Finn disappoints.

Filippo Zana (Soudal Quick Step) wins the fourth stage of the Giro di Sardegna, from Arbatax to Nuoro, 153.6 km.

Garibbo , leader until this morning, runs into difficulty right from the first climb, the Passo Genna Silana , and breaks away from the rest of the group.

The race was decided on the Su Pradu mountain pass, with a 25-man group leading the way. One of the first to break away was U23 world champion Finn , while Soudal worked with Vansevenant and Vervaeke.

Several attack attempts occur, but none succeed, with a small group of ten men climbing the summit together. On the subsequent descent, Zana pulls ahead and manages to open up a gap.
The 1999-born rider managed to maintain his lead until the finish line and took the stage and the jersey. Behind him, Verre finished second, ahead of Vervaeke .
