Vincenzo Albanese of Ef won the second stage of the Tour of Switzerland, from Aarau to Schwarzsee, 177 km.

The breakaway of the day resumed, with Mauro Schmid and Jonas Rutsch as protagonists, with 2.5 km to go Ian Christen tried but the group caught him just before the finish line for a sprint on a slight uphill climb.

Albanese took the stage win ahead of Fabio Christen of Q36.5 and Lewis Askey of Groupama.

Romain Gregoire maintains the overall lead.
