The legendary Monte Serra is still the protagonist in professional races thanks to the Giro di Toscana-Memorial Alfredo Martini. The ascent symbol of the province of Pisa so dear to Fantacycling , and which will host our first meeting on Saturday 1 October, will be climbed next Wednesday, 14 September, within a route of 199.6 km.

Departure and arrival will be in Pontedera : after the first 66 km in line, the runners will face the first climb of the day going towards Santo Pietro in Belvedere, and then pass through Capanolli, La Rosa, La Sterza and Lajatico, before starting the return, also crossing Peccioli, Forcoli and Sant'Andrea, and reach the finish line for the first time in Pontedera.

The circuit of 66.5 kilometers will begin immediately afterwards: you will arrive at Sant'Andrea di Compito, where the ascent towards Monte Serra will begin from one of the three sides of the climb which measures 11.1 km with challenging slopes.

The descent will see the passage from Calci, Caprona, Uliveto Terme and San Giovanni alla Vena. Then second and last passage on the Serra which will take place about 30 kilometers from the end. Then descent and plain until the finish that could allow recoveries or surprise actions in the final.

19 teams will participate in the Giro della Toscana. The 9 cataloged World Tour: EF Education - Easypost; Astana Qazaqstan; Cofidis; Ineos-Grenadiers (with the almost certain presence of Egan Bernal ); Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert; Israel - Premier Tech; Lotto-Soudal; Movistar; UAE-Emirates.

The other ten teams present will be Bardiani-Csf-Faizanè; Burgos-BH; Hopper-Androni Drone; Aeolus-Kometa; Totalenergies; Beltrami-Tsa-Tre Colli; Giotti-Victoria; Mg.K Vis Colors For Peace; Corratec Team; Zalf-Euromobil-Desirée.

And the next day, September 15th, still great cycling with the 199 km Sabatini-Gran Premio di Peccioli Cup. In the final we will run along a 12.2 kilometer circuit to be covered three times in which there will be a challenging tear that will decide the winner of the race.
