Mads Pedersen wins the third stage of the Giro d'Italia with start and finish in Valona, 160 km.

On the Qafa e Llogarasë climb, the day's breakaway ends, Wout Van Aert breaks away and Fortunato and Bilbao attempt an attack; the Astana rider takes the first place in the Mountain Class, with about 50" of advantage over the pink jersey group.

On the descent and in the last 25 flat kilometers, however, the group comes back, thanks to the work of the men of Lidl Trek, who have the goal of winning the stage with Mads Pedersen . Fortunato and Pello Bilbao , in fact, are caught 18 kilometers from the finish line.  

In the sprint, once again, there was a perfect job by Lidl Trek, with the sprint launched by Vacek and then concluded by Pedersen who took his second victory in this Giro d'Italia and regained the pink jersey.  

Second place went to Corbin Strong , while third place went to Orluis Aular once again.
