Jonas Vingegaard won the 20th stage of the Giro d'Italia, from Gemona del Friuli to Piancavallo, 200 km.

The breakaway broke away, with a few survivors managing to get past on the first pass of the final climb, with Ciccone mathematically winning the best climber's jersey.

Six riders remained: Leknessund, Haig, Warbasse, Huens, Crescioli, and Arrieta, but the pink jersey group, led by Visma, left no chance. Vingegaard lost Kuss and Piganzoli, who was beaten in the battle for the young riders' jersey by Eulalio, but he attacked with 10 minutes to go, immediately remaining alone and winning the fifth stage of his Giro. Behind him was the beaten group, over a minute behind, led by Gall, ahead of Hindley, second and third on the final podium, and Gee.
