Kasper Asgreen (EF Education) wins the fourteenth stage of the Giro d'Italia, from Treviso to Nova Gorica (195 km).

A breakaway of 4 riders composed of Davy, Maestri, Marcellusi and Asgreen livened up the race in the early stages.

Inside the final circuit, a fall at the head of the group involves most of the riders. The one who pays the worst price is Giulio Ciccone , who gets back on his bike visibly in pain.

The peloton breaks up with very few riders avoiding the accident, while among the general classification men Bernal, Tiberi, Ayuso and Roglic remain behind.

Asgreen takes advantage of the situation, attacks from the breakaway and goes off alone. The small group behind him does not have the strength to be able to chase and the Dane triumphs alone. The sprint for 2nd place is won by Groves over Kooij .

Roglic, Ayuso, Bernal and Storer lose 48", while Tiberi loses 1'45".
