You have to push on the pedals: 81 kilometers for 550 meters in altitude, almost entirely on the Giro route. There is, immediately, the small rise of Monteperpoli, then you dive (almost literally, because the profile of the stage indicates descent, but it's all an up and down, an eating and drinking that produces, in fact, an already interesting difference in altitude) towards Viareggio , but by the long way. The sea is conquered, but then the arrival is spectacular: you come out on the Viareggio seafront, turn left and head towards the arch that closes the stage, on a kilometre-long straight which, seen from the saddle, really seems infinite. Too bad the weather, otherwise it would have been an almost perfect stop.
