Debut at Sanremo and Flanders, but no Giro d'Italia
Patrick Lefevere , patron of Soudal-Quick-Step, revealed Remco Evenepoel 's plans for the upcoming season well in advance.
The Belgian, fresh from his gold medal in the Olympic time trial, should make his debut in 2025 at the Tirreno-Adriatico or Paris-Nice, and then, surprisingly, take part in his first career Milan-Sanremo .
His season should continue with some Belgian classics in preparation for the Tour of Flanders , another monument that Evenepoel has never taken part in. The 2000-born rider will then take part in Liège, a race he has already won in 2022 and 2023.
Speaking of major stage races, the Giro d'Italia will not be present in the plans of Soudal-Quick-Step this year either, as far as their star man is concerned: Evenepoel, in fact, will most likely aim for the Tour de France , after his brilliant third place this year.
In addition to the Olympic road race, the current season should conclude with the tough World Championships in Zurich and the Giro di Lombardia.
