The Tour de France that is about to begin is destined to tell, as always, many stories; moments that will remain etched in the memory for those who dream of repeating them or simply get excited about telling them. From A to Z , a special alphabet will be needed, declined in all the languages of the world because in this Grande Boucle all continents will be represented: there are 154 European runners, 14 Americans, divided between north and south, 10 from Oceania, three from Asia and three from Africa. In alphabetical order the appeal begins with the champion of the Alaphilippe mountain and ends with the German Zimmermann . In order of height we will go from the 99m of another German, Walscheid to Chaves and LĂłpez (1 and 64). Walscheid is also the heaviest runner (90 kilos), while the French Elissonde with his 52 kilos is the lightest.

The man who has traveled the most kilometers in his career at the Grande Boucle is the Dutch Mollema (7389), while his compatriot Teunissen is the one who has done the least (2005).

We will then go from the enthusiasm of the younger Wright (22 years and 14 days) to the eternal desire to excel of Valverde (41 years and 62 days), who came to the Tour for the first time in 2005, when Brochard and Bortolami were still racing, and now ready for the 29th great stage race: the 14th Tour, after 15 Vuelta and 1 Giro. There will be no shortage of champions: there are four past winners (Froome 4, Nibali , Thomas and Pogacar ) and 41 riders who have won at least one stage ( Cavendish 30, Sagan 12, Greipel 11). Three of them complete the trilogy next time: Nacer Bouhanni won 3 in the Giro and 3 in the Vuelta, he misses France as well as Esteban Chaves (3 in Italy and 2 in Spain) and Matej Mohoric (1 + 1). The rookies are 45 and other 33 have never placed even one day in the top ten. Four have left, but never yet arrived in Paris : Jasper Philipsen , Segio Henao , Danny Van Poppel and Davide Formolo .

France leads the group with the highest number of registered riders (33), followed by Belgium with 22. Italy only shows up at the start with nine men . We will go to the multinationals Bahrain, Qhubeka and UAE Emirates, with   eight runners from eight different countries, at the 100% French B&B Hotels.

Letters and numbers of a Tour that is preparing to leave, with a new baggage of emotions and stories to tell.
