54 km solo for the Belgian champion

Tim Wellens (UAE Team Emirates) wins the Clasica Jaen Paraiso Interior (1.1), starting and finishing in Ubelda, 154 km.

On the dirt road sector of Mar de Olivos the race explodes, with Wellens and Donovan gaining an advantage over a group of around 25 riders, from which Pidcock remains behind.

Donovan tries to attack in turn, but Wellens reacts immediately and also extends his lead alone.
The Belgian gained about a minute on a small group of 31 athletes.

On the Sant'Eulalia sector, several men try to attack from behind to try to chase Wellens , but there is a lack of collaboration between these riders, also thanks to the work of the stoppers and the other UAE riders.

In the second pass on the Mar de Olivos Pidcock and Van Gils attack, followed by Christen .
The trio gains a lead over the leader and closes in on them, reaching a gap of up to 25 seconds, but is unable to complete the chase.

Wellens won solo, while Pidcock won the sprint ahead of Christen for second place. Van Gils's crash during the sprint, when Christen touched him, was incredible.

The jury decided to disqualify Christen. Her teammate Cosnefroy therefore climbed to the podium.
