Damiano Caruso (Bahrein Victorious) triumphs in solitude in the ninth stage of La Vuelta, from Puerto-Lumbreras to the 188km Alto de Velefique with four mountain grand prix. The Italian rider preceded the Slovenian Primoz Roglic (Team Jumbo Visma) and the Spanish Enric Mas (Movistar Team), both over a minute apart.

Roglic still maintains the primacy in the general classification and increases the advantage over all rivals for the final victory.
