Primoz Roglic wins the 170.5km fourth stage of La Vuelta from Plasencia to Pico Villuercas.

On the final climb, Roglic , Mas and Van Eetvelt went away, only to be caught two kilometres from the finish by Almeida, Gall and Ricitello, who were also joined by Landa in the final kilometre.

Landa starts a counterattack with 400 meters to go, but Van Eetvelt catches up with him and when he seems to have won, he is fooled at the finish line by Roglic. Almeida places third.

Tiberi also did well, arriving just a few seconds behind the best, while Adam Yates, Carapaz and Kuss did poorly.

Roglic is also the new leader of the general classification with an 8" advantage over Almeida and 32" over Mas .
