Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) wins the Italian road championship, 232 km from Asti to Cuneo

After an initial breakaway of 5 men, Mattia Bais (Team Polti VisitMalta), Manule Tarozzi and Martin Marcellusi (Bardiani CSF 7 Saber), Manuel Oioli (Swatt Club), Luca Vergallito (Alpecin Premier-Tech), Filippo D'Aiuto (General Store – Essegibi – F.Lli Curia), Nicolò Garibbo and Tommaso Dati (Team UKYO), Nicola Conci (XDS Astana Team), Marco Frigo (NSN Cycling Team), Gianmarco Garofoli (Soudal Quick-Step), Lorenzo Finn (Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe), Matteo Ambrosini, Fausto Masnada and Lorenzo Nespoli (MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort) tried to gain an advantage.
However, the leaders were caught with 40 km to go, with Soudal and Lidl among the most active at the head of the group.

In the final, there are several attempts to break away, but none are successful.
The final kilometer on cobblestones was very confusing, with no team able to take control of the situation.
In the final 250 meters, the sprint was launched, with Milan in a perfect position, starting from the center of the road; Dati tried to get away from him, but the Lidl rider managed to win comfortably, right ahead of the Team Ukyo rider. Third place went to Romele .
