Remco Evenepoel is the new Olympic champion of the individual time trial on the road. The race in Paris, held in the rain along a 32 km course, saw the Belgian win the gold medal with a time of 36'12" at an average speed of 53.702 km/h.

Thanks to a great comeback in the final, Filippo Ganna is the silver medalist, 15 seconds behind Evenepoel. Bronze medal for Wout Van Aert, who finished 25 seconds behind his compatriot.
