The strongest opponents will be Evenepoel and Tarling

Tomorrow, July 27, the time trial of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will take place. Three years after Primoz Roglic's success in Tokyo, who was absent this year, there are at least three big favorites to win the gold medal. But watch out for surprises.

The race is almost 33 km long and takes place in the heart of the French capital on a completely flat course. Filippo Ganna , waiting to ride his beloved track, is one of the logical candidates for the final success. The strongest opponents will be Remco Evenepoel, fresh from a brilliant Tour de France, and the very young Joshua Tarling, reigning European champion of the specialty.

In the top positions we should also see the Swiss Stefan Kung, the Americans Magnus Sheffield and Brandon McNulty as well as the Danish Mattias Skjelmose.

On paper, Wout Van Aert is a podium man but his last time trial outings have not been among the best. Will he be able to reverse the trend? And then watch out for surprises, as in the case of Tobias Foss winner at the World Championships in 2022: in this case, in addition to the name of the Norwegian, we mention the Dane Mikkel Bjerg, the Frenchman Kevin Vauquelin and the Canadian Derek Gee.

Italy will also be represented by Alberto Bettiol.

In the women's field, on a 32.4 km route, Italy will field Elisa Longo Borghini, winner of the last Giro d'Italia. All the details in this evening's Instagram live at 9 pm (Fantacycling Official page).
