Jonas Vingegaard (Team Visma Lease a bike) wins the fifth stage of Paris-Nice, from Cormoranche-sur-Saône to Colombier-le-Vieux (206.3km).

After several dozen kilometers, a breakaway formed consisting of Cavagna, Vlasov, Tarling, Cepeda and Prodhomme, who were later joined by Romeo, Cepeda and Campenaerts.

After the Cote de Secheras , Cepeda remains alone in the lead with a 1-minute margin on the main group towed by Visma and already heavily selected.

On the Côte de Saint-Jean-de-Muzols , Cepeda is caught and Vingegaard attacks : the Dane takes off alone, while Lenny Martinez, Dani Martinez, Vauquelin, Paret-Peintre, Rondel, Steinhauser and Tejada chase behind him.

Vingegaard won comfortably, while Paret-Peintre sprinted to take second place. Tejada outsprinted the other men in the standings.
