Stage significantly shortened to just 47 km of flat terrain

Dorian Godon (Ineos Grenadiers) wins the seventh stage of the Paris-Nice : the stage is shortened twice due to bad weather: first, the final climb to Auron is skipped due to snow, and then the entire first part is cut as well.

The race then runs over a 47km route from Pont Louis Nucera to Isola.

The race was marked by a solo breakaway by Marsam (Alpecin-Deceuninck). Once caught, the Dutchman attempted to overtake Vinokourov, but the peloton was still in a compact group heading towards the sprint.

A crash splits the peloton at 2km to go, with Tejada involved.
Ineos sets the final sprint with Godon starting in the lead and triumphing ahead of Girmay and Bol .
