The British had already won gold three years ago

Olympic double for Thomas Pidcock . The British rider from Ineos Grenadiers won the gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in mountain biking, three years after his success in Tokyo in the same specialty.
The very exciting race, in which Pidcock also suffered a puncture, was decided only in the final metres when the biker, winner of an Amstel Gold Race and a Strade Bianche, as well as a stage at the 2022 Tour de France, detached his French rival Victor Koretzky, after a heart-stopping overtaking, and the South African Alan Haterly, silver and bronze medalists respectively.
Fourth place for Italian Luca Braidot.
